I have heard raving reviews about Flower Beauty and for that reason I’ve always wanted to give it a try. I pass it in my drugstore all the time but don’t give it much of a second thought. For those who haven’t heard of Flower Beauty, it is an affordable cosmetics line founded by Drew Barrymore.
Whilst, I am one who is tired of the saturation of the beauty industry due to influencers and celebrities, I don’t see or hear much about Flower Beauty.
I’ve been trying my best to be on a no makeup and skincare buy as I have a lot of product to use but given it was 50% off, I finally caved and gave it a first impression. And I can definitely say that the brand is underrated for me. I thought the products were really great considering their price point. All their products are cruelty-free.
Flower Beauty // Light Illusion Liquid Foundation
buy at ulta
(+) contains SPF, lightweight, medium coverage
(-) limited shade range
Probably the most popular product in the range so I had to pick this. I really liked the medium coverage and dewy finish that this foundation gave me. It applied beautifully and did not feel oily or greasy at all so it would work with combination-oily skin.
However, it may be difficult to shade match as there are not a lot of colours.
Flower Beauty // Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer
buy at ulta
(+) creamy, lightweight
(-) accentuates flakiness/dry skin, may not work if you have very pale skin
I really wanted to liked this as some people compared it to Tarte Shape Tape but I think this was a bit disappointing. I felt the concealer really accentuated flakiness and dryness under my eyes. Given that the foundation range was limited, so is this. However, I usually buy a lighter shade for my concealer and I have read comments that the lightest shade has been too dark on some people.
Flower Beauty // The Skinny Microbrow Pencil Brunette
(+) natural looking, precise, in-built buffing brush
This is one product that I think I will absolutely re-purchase once it runs out (or breaks – whichever is first). I detest stiff spoolie brushes. I love the buffing brush that comes with it which fluffs and softens my brows. I also like the precise control tip – it helps make my brows look tame. This will be the staple in my gym make-up bag for work once lockdown ends.

Flower Beauty // Perfect Pout Moisturizing Lipstick Blush Rose
(+) hydrating, pigmented
I would say these lipsticks have a cremesheen finish that I appreciate. The colour payoff is not compromised by comfort. These lipsticks are infused with vitamin E which help relieve chapped, dry lips and can help make your lips softer. I love this shade – literally blush rose in a colour.

Overall, I really did like these products. Perhaps I just chose a good bunch. As with all makeup lines, there are always hit and misses. However, I do find this collection comparable or if not better to brands such as Makeup Revolution and Maybelline that are at a similar price point.
The blushes looked really pretty but I have way too many at the moment. I do think the flower blushes are the star of the show so I may need to buy one soon.
How did i not know that drew barrymore has a makeup line? This brand sounds fab! Thanks for sharing xx
