Valentine’s Day Date Night Outfit Ideas

February 7, 2021

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Valentine’s Day is coming up really soon and so is Galentine’s Day. Anyone a Parks and Rec fan? We all want to look our best on a date and the idea of picking out a date night outfit can be quite stressful. Heck – even me picking out a work outfit the night before takes some time even if I go through a rotation of the same three tops and skirts almost all the time. Oops.

I’ve realised as I’ve been browsing for date night outfits that there have been certain trends that I gravitate towards and I’m excited to share with you some of my favourite trends and ideas that hopefully inspire you so you don’t stress out.

Florals & Ruffles

I really think a cute flirty floral dress is the perfect date night outfit. I think they’re also a very versatile and staple dress that works for both day and night occasions. I also love a ruffle hem skirt or dress (ruffles at the bottom). I think it’s a really feminine and cute look. It can be dressed up or down. Wear with a strappy heel or sneakers.

Satin

I will love satin until the day I die. I find that a satin skirt or dress, particularly a form-fitting one can give an amazing silhouette. I think it just makes your outfit more mature and put together. Add a statement clutch to complete your look.

If satin skirts or dresses aren’t your thing, opt for a satin blouse or cami and wear with jeans or leggings or a mini skirt.

Jacquard

I personally don’t own anything in a jacquard material but I want it! Jacquard involves a pattern that is woven into the material rather than embroidered or printed. I think it’s really unique and the patterns are gorgeous. It will make you look so expensive and sophisticated like royalty!

Leather

I absolutely love leather/faux leather. Whether that’s wearing a leather skirt, leather shacket, leather jacket or leather leggings – it is a guaranteed item that will make you feel sexy and ready to impress.

Designer Clutch or Bag that makes you feel good

Whilst, I don’t really wear designer items, I will try to take out my designer clutch or bag for a nice date night. I find that designer bags are the only designer items I can justify buying.

I really do like the YSL bags and clutches and my Gucci Soho Disco bag is one of my go-tos. You can dress it up and down and it’s such a versatile and stylish bag.

Treat yourself to a nice clutch or bag that you can wear on nice occasions.

A nice pair of boots & heels

You don’t need a billion shoes but invest in a pair of boots and heels that you will wear regularly. Definitely buy a pair that you can walk in. A gorgeous 10 inch stiletto means nothing if you can’t walk in it girl. Comfort over fashion every day.

Dress to impress yourself

Lastly, dress to impress yourself. Wear an outfit that you enjoy so you can wear it with confidence. Your confidence will shine you and guys and everyone else will love you for it. Wear the outfit as opposed to the outfit wearing you. And who’s to say you can’t dress up in quarantine or lockdown.

If a guy doesn’t love your fashion sense, he’s just not on the same taste level as you girl.
